Chiefs support Wendy’s DreamLift Day
The Kelowna Chiefs hockey team is doing their part for the Wendy’s DreamLift Day to support the Sunshine Foundation.
Every member on the team will be volunteering at different Wendy’s Restaurants in the city throughout the day on Wednesday January 25.
Now in its 18th year, the program transports a plane full of children to a special destination and back. The children, who are challenged by severe physical disability or life-threatening illness, get to experience an adventure and a day of independence.
All Wendy’s restaurants from Penticton to Kamloops will be donating the whole day’s proceeds and wages to help make dreams for kids come true.
Players will join Wendy’s employees, local celebrities, RCMP and members of the Orange Country sheriff department who have all volunteered to help.
Last year’s DreamLift Day raised $109,080 and this years “Thanks a Million” event is expected to break the million-dollar mark.
