Split Road Weekend for Chiefs
The Kelowna Chiefs had a win and a loss on the road this weekend.
The team was in Grand Forks Friday January 27 where it took overtime for the Chiefs to defeat the Border Bruins.
Final score was 7 – 6 with TJ Dumonceaux (1G, 1A) scoring the game winner in OT.
Kelowna was down by two goals in the third period when Braeden Hikichi (1G, 2A) and Mitchell Steinke (1G) scored back-to-back goals to tie up the game and force the overtime period.
Also adding points in the match was Landon Andrusiak (3A), Catlin McLeod (2A), Dane Rupert (2A), and Shayne Welker (1G, 1A).
The Chiefs then continued their road swing to Spokane on Saturday January 28 where the Eagles defeated Kelowna 6 – 4.
Scoring for the Chiefs was Scott Renner (1G, 1A), Kyle Clerke (1G), Dane Rupert (1G, 1A), and PJ Lawler (1G).
Up next for the Kelowna Chiefs is a home game against Penticton on Friday February 3, followed by a game against the Summerland Steam.
