Victories on home ice

The Kelowna Chiefs racked up 4 points this weekend plus a shut out.

On Friday Feb. 3, the Chiefs welcomed Penticton to Rutland Arena where the team defeated the Lakers 6 – 0.

Goaltender Tyler O’Donnell had his first shut out of the season, earning the second star in the game.  Scoring for Kelowna was Landon Andrusiak (1G, 2A), Dane Rupert (1G, 2A), and Kirk Reeve (1G).

Kelowna then continues their hot streak into Saturday Feb 4, against the Summerland Steam.

While the Chiefs took an early lead in the second period, the Steam kept fighting back and kept the game tied until late in the third period when TJ Dumonceaux (1G, 1A) scored the game winner for a 4 – 3 victory.

Also scoring for the Chiefs was Landon Andrusiak (1G, 1A) and Dane Rupert (1G, 2A.)  Catlin McLeod also netted his second of the season.

Up next for the Kelowna Chiefs, a road trip next week.  The team travels to Osoyoos on Friday Feb 10, followed by a stop in Kamloops on Saturday Feb 11.
