Chiefs Bolster Staff

There is some exciting news Straight Outta Rutland! The Kelowna Chiefs have made some organizational moves that will make them all around stronger in the front office and on the ice.

Ken Law will be moving into a Full Time General Manager Role and Travers Rebman who was an Assistant Coach last year will assume the Head Coaching duties. Both Assistant Coaches Thierry Martine and Carl Poole will return as the Assistant Coaches. Long time Scout Larry Hamilton will take on Assistant GM duties along with his Head Scout role. Travis Hoy will remain as the Chiefs goalie coach and Shea Kearns will continue as the strength and conditioning coach.

“With the growth we have seen within our league and team, it makes sense to have more hands on deck.” says President Jason Tansem. “Recruiting is an essential part of each organization and it is an area of focus for us. Both Ken and Larry are pro’s at finding high quality players and we want to continue building on that success. Travers is a tremendous coach and he will focus on skill development and advancing players to the next level.” explains Tansem. “I am a believer that each of us needs to be champions in our roles in order to be 100% successful. With our staff now rounded out, we truly offer a premier program within the KIJHL.”

The Chiefs will get back on the ice for skills sessions starting in June in preparation for Main Camp August 23 – 25 at Rutland Arena.
