Chiefs’ Lowry signs with BCIHL Lakers

Jordan Lowry of the Kelowna Chiefs is joining teammate Patrick Reynolds, signing with the Okanagan Lakers in the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League for the 2022-23 season.

Lowry, a Kelowna product, spent three seasons with his hometown team, putting up 65 points in 111 regular season games and adding nine points in 22 Teck Cup playoff games. Last season, Lowry had 11 goals and 22 points in 26 games.

“The Chiefs took me in as a young 17-year-old and treated me like family ever since,” he said. “It’s a great first-class organization with great people, everyone is so welcoming and fun, it’s a great place to play, especially knowing you’ve got the full support from all the amazing fans, makes it a tremendous atmosphere to play in.”

Lowry, who played two games in the SJHL with the Notre Dame Hounds in 2020-21, said he is looking forward to starting with the Lakers.

Chiefs General Manager Jason Tansem said Lowry is a very skilled player.

“He can be put into any situation. He is one of those kids that always wants to be on the ice and take charge,” said Tansem.
