Davidson, Levesque and Cunningham named Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week

 

 

Joe Davidson (Nelson Leafs), Dain Levesque (Kelowna Chiefs) and Damon Cunningham (Sicamous Eagles) have been selected as the Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending Nov. 6, 2022.

Davidson – Top Forward – The Nelson product had four goals and an assist in two games for the Leafs. Davidson opened the scoring and added an assist in a loss to the Grand Forks Border Bruins.  Davidson then helped the Leafs erase a 2-0 deficit against the Fernie Ghostriders and earn a 3-2 overtime win with a hat-trick. Davidson now has 13 points in 12 games to lead the Leafs in points.

Levesque – Top Defenceman – The Kitimat, B.C. product had a goal and three assists in three games for the Chiefs, all losses. In a 7-3 loss to the Osoyoos Coyotes, Levesque assisted on their goal to make it a 3-1 Osoyoos lead. In a 5-1 loss, to Osoyoos, the five-foot-nine, 175-pound blueliner had scored their lone goal on the power-play. Then in their 7-6 shootout loss to Columbia Valley, Levesque had two assists, giving the Chiefs a 4-3 and 5-3 lead. Levesque now leads the Chiefs in points with eight points in 13 games. He has two goals.

Cunningham – Top Goalie –  The Sturgeon Country, Alberta product earned his first KIJHL shutout with a 38-save performance in a 2-0 win against the Kamloops Storm on Nov. 5. Cunningham made 29 saves in the second and third period combined, including 16 in the third period. With the win, Cunningham improved his record to 5-1 in six games and has an incredible .959 save percentage with a 1.50 goals against average.
