KELOWNA – The Kelowna Chiefs are pleased to announce the addition of Mark Readman
as the Director of Scouting.
“We are fortunate to welcome Mark into our organization” said Darren Tymchyshyn, the Chiefs Owner. “The ability to attract a proven recruiter and winner into our organization such as Mark is a big win for us. We will continue to look to improve all facets of the organization as we aim to be the place to play in the KIJHL.”
Readman, a Dawson Creek, B.C., native joins the Chiefs after being part of the Princeton Posse organization from 2021-24, where he played a big part in turning the organization around as its head coach and assistant general manager. A two-time Bill Ohlhausen Coach of the Year recipient and the KIJHL’s Coach of the Year in 2022-23, Readman led the Posse to their first two Presidents Trophies as the KIJHL’s top regular season team. Readman also guided them to the Teck Cup Final, losing to Kimberley in the 2022-23 season.
“I am truly excited to take on the role of Director of Scouting for the Kelowna Chiefs and contribute to the team’s continued success in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League,” said Readman. “This is an incredible opportunity to work alongside a passionate group of coaches, staff, ownership and players committed to pursuing excellence. In 130 regular season games, Readman had 81 wins to go with 31 losses, 6 ties and 4 shootout losses. Prior to joining the Posse, Readman was the associate coach and assistant GM for Creston Valley in the 2020-21 season.
