The WIJHL has dropped the puck on it’s inaugural preseason

The Western International Junior Hockey League officially opened its inaugural pre-season at the Johnny Bucyk Arena in Creston, BC, and what a special night it was in front of over 600 fans.

WIJHL Chairman Brandon Buliziuk was on hand to drop the first-ever WIJHL game puck, joined by Creston Valley Thunder HC/GM Larry Wintoneak and Kelowna Chiefs HC/GM Rylan Ferster.

It was a moment that marked the beginning of a new chapter in Junior Hockey; one built around development, opportunity, community and a commitment to our players.

On the ice, the Kelowna Chiefs put together a strong performance, earning a 2–0 victory over the Creston Valley Thunder.

Congratulations to both clubs on being part of WIJHL history. The first puck has been dropped, and the journey has officially begun.
