Larsen, Kessler & Stojan named KIJHL 3 Stars

 

 

Ryan Larsen (Kamloop Storm), Jake Kessler (Kelowna Chiefs) and Connor Stojan (Beaver Valley Nitehawks) have been selected as the Hudl Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending Oct. 29.

Larsen – Top Forward –The Kamloops product netted two goals and collected four assists to help the Storm win three of its four games. On Oct. 24, Larsen set up Ty Horner for the 3-2 overtime winner against the 100 Mile House Wranglers. On Oct. 27, a 4-2 loss in Beaver Valley, Larsen collected an assist. In their 5-2 win over Nelson, Larsen assisted on Evan Clark’s goal to give the Storm a 2-1 lead, then in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Castlegar Rebels on Oct. 29, Larsen had two goals and an assist. In 12 games, Larsen has five goals and 12 points, which is second on the Storm.

Kessler – Top Defenceman – The Warman, Saskatchewan product had a goal and three assists to help the Chiefs defeat the Spokane Braves 9-3 on Oct. 28. Kessler’s first KIJHL point was an assist on Matt Keylor’s opening goal. Kessler then assisted on the eventual winner which gave the Chiefs a 4-3 lead, scored his first goal and added his third assist.

Stojan – Top Goalie – The Grande Prairie, Alberta product helped the Nitehawks win two of their three games. Stojan stopped 35 of 36 shots in a 7-1 win over Nelson on Oct. 24. Then in a 4-2 win over Kamloops on Oct. 27, Stojan stopped 36 of 38 shots. On Oct. 28, he stopped 25 of 27 shots in a 2-1 loss to Fernie. Over the three games, Stojan stopped 96 of 101 shots for a .950 SP and a 1.68 GAA. Stojan has won nine of his 10 games with a 2.09 GAA and a .926 SP. His nine wins lead all KIJHL goalies.
