BILLET A CHIEF
If you are interested in becoming a billet family for the Kelowna Chiefs junior hockey team for the upcoming season, please complete the attached application form.
Being a billet family can be a very exciting and rewarding experience for all those willing to open up their homes to dedicated players of the Kelowna Chiefs. Many families who have had billeted players in the past usually look back at their experience with fond memories. In fact, many families still keep in contact with their players as they move on from playing junior hockey.
Each billet family is paid a monthly allowance of $800.00 CDN per player. Each family is given a season’s family pass inclusive of playoffs and will be invited to exclusive social functions and meetings periodically throughout the season.
We are looking for good family homes for our players, who are 16 to 20 years old, to stay while playing for the Kelowna Chiefs. The players need their own bedroom, meals and access to the internet for school and team purposes. Most players come with their own vehicles or they are provided rides by their team mates. They may need a place to park their car. Placement also takes into consideration that some of our players could have allergies to pets, etc.
If you are accepted as a billet family, you will be provided with a Billet Information Package that contains player conduct, expectations and player rules at the billet homes.
If you have any questions regarding the contents of this package or the process of becoming a billet family, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the Billet Coordinators listed below.
